These are old-growth forests. Try not to cry.
Reasons I am going to love North California…oh my gods, trees…
This makes me sad.

"I don’t believe that beauty should be qualified as BECAUSE of someone’s size or IN SPITE of someone’s size. Beauty is beauty, it’s fluid, it’s objective and it doesn’t need to be justified to or by anyone."~

Stages of Dreadlocks. ( Done, the Mmorgan/natural no touchy way)
Stages:
1. Stand up strands: When you first do them and they all stick straight up for a couple days! ( If you’ve got a better name for this, lemme know….)
2. Illusionist Infants: They look perfect and beautiful! All mature and strong, a little frizzy but nothing to bad. Just you wait for the….
3. Terribly Twos! : This is usually a couple months, it happens over time, they do get worse before they get better…. They fall apart, loop, swoop, jump, bump, hug, tug-a-lug, bind, grind, tear, separate, disappear, loosen, any other word you can find that means bad hair day…… ( even though, I liked it)
4. Twisty Tots/ Tightening Tots : They loop and twist and oh it’s a real dance….. pretty simple, of course in their older months they start to loop and tighten! I’ve found, after loops straighten out, it tightens the dreadlock significantly.. This is usually when they become a little stronger.
5. Monster Munchers! : Those loopy dreadlocks can eat some loose hair that fell out during the first stages of your dreadlocks! which is good, but make sure it’s not eating other dreads, unless….that’s what you want, then good on’ ya!
6. Tightening Teens: I KNOW, similar to tots but no sir! This is when your dreads should be completing their maturity. Finishing up any tightening, incorporating some new hair
5. Adjusted Adults/ Mature Mama’s!: Just as it sounds, we all know what mature dreadlocks look like….
*Based on personal experience, stories, pictures, research, yadda yadda….you don’t have to do any maintenance, separating, or you can…whatever. This also depends on your hair type and length.*
Oh and, this all takes fucking time…. This isn’t like a 2 month thing here… this is real life homies, real time… You’ve got to love your dreads, take care of them, treat them and cuddle with them, like little kitties…
Message me if you want to add. I’ll credit you, too. It’ll be great! Tell me what you deadlock stages were like!
I’m definitely at stage 3 and I’m nearing 3 months. At the beginning, I thought I could use something like aloe to get a handle of the loose hairs. Then I realized it doesn’t help with tightening. All I do now is separate & try to avoid a helmet of matted hair. Haha
